Founded in 1950, Nakajima Textile Manufactory began producing silk and rayon textiles in Fukami-cho, Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture. In 1965, the company expanded into synthetic fiber weaving, and by 1995, it had started selling its own original textile designs.

Tatsuo Nakajima 中嶋 達夫

Driven by the philosophy of "creating one-of-a-kind textiles," Nakajima focuses on the development of jacquard weaving technology while establishing an independent sales system and expanding distribution channels. In recent years, he has showcased his work at MILANO UNICA (Italy), strengthening connections with luxury brands both domestically and internationally. He continues to push the boundaries of textile innovation, particularly in the development of composite fabrics combining synthetic and natural fibers.
Nakajima joined Nakajima Textile Manufactory in 1969 and became its representative in 1985. His accolades include winning awards at the JFW Japan Creation Textile Contest in 2003, 2008, and 2009, as well as at the Japan Textile Contest in 2015. In 2011, he was honored with the Fukui Prefecture Textile Technology Achievement Award. In 2024, he joined BATTAN BATTAN.
